About Anne C. Balant

Anne C. Balant is an Associate Professor of Communication Disorders at SUNY New Paltz, New York. She earned her bachelors degree in Physics from Bryn Mawr College and her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at CUNY Graduate Center. She worked in laser physics and noise control engineering at IBM and became certified as a clinical audiologist before joining the SUNY New Paltz faculty. Her research interests include noise control and psychoacoustics with a focus on increasing public acceptance and reducing the human impacts of wind farms. She leads her town’s NYS DEC Climate Smart task force.
