About Arnau Amat

Arnau Amat is a researcher and professor of Science and Environmental Education in the department of Didàctica de les Arts i les Ciències at Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya. He coordinates the elementary teaching degree. He earned his PhD in Science Education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research focuses on sociocultural approaches in three different areas: science education for sustainability, science teaching education and the role of emotions in science and environmental learning. Currently, he leads a project to promote and investigate biodiversity in schoolyards. Prior to that he worked as an environmental educator and high school science teacher.
