About Jack L. Harris
Jack L. Harris is Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Director in Sustainability in the Department of Human Ecology at Rutgers University. He previously worked at SUNY New Paltz as an Assistant Professor and Sustainability Faculty Fellow. Jack’s research and teaching focus on the intersection of the environment, economy, and society with a particular emphasis on community networks and hyperlocal organizations. Current research centers on problems of Scottish sustainability in historical and cultural context. He is the author of Hyperlocal Organizing: Collaborating for Recovery over Time (Lexington 2022), which explores how local knowledge and community networks impact post-disaster recovery over time.
