About Lisa C. Hix

Lisa C. Hix, DSc, MBA, Professor and Co-Chair, Sustainable Product Design/Architecture Department, Keene State College. Her background in industrial design (Rhode Island School of Design), a career in new product design and engineering (marine and lighting industries) and in design and manufacturing consulting led to teaching in higher education and a DSc in Work Environment: Cleaner Production/Pollution Prevention. Her research led to creating a Bachelor/Science program in Sustainable Product Design and Innovation and developing learning tools and experiences to build student awareness, knowledge and skills in applying sustainability principles into front-end design decision-making.
