About Suzanne Stokes
Suzanne Stokes, artist, Professor and Foundation Coordinator at SUNY New Paltz, is an advocate for community-based arts and dedicated to sustainability education. She is the founder/artistic director of the shadow-based theatre group Cave Dogs and creates monotypes focusing on issues about water. Performances, exhibitions, and workshops include Sibikwa Arts Centre, The Centre for the Less Good Idea, SA; Reykjavik Fringe Festival, Iceland; Academy for Untamed Creativity, Denmark; Skissernaus Museum, Sweden; The Brooklyn Children’s Museum; Women’s Studio Workshop; and Fringe Festivals across the US. She received grants from The Jim Henson Foundation, NYC, Franklin Furnace, NYC and the NLT Foundation, MA.
