SELF-REFLECTION: INVITATION FOR EDUCATORS:
This reflection tool may be adapted for faculty learning communities, course design workshops, or individual planning. It is released under the same CC BY-NC license as the unit plans it accompanies.
- What sustainability challenge is most alive in your community right now, and does your unit help students connect it to larger global patterns?
- Whose knowledge counts in your classroom, and whose expertise might be missing, such as students, families, workers, community elders, local partners, or peers in another place?
- How might students learn alongside people in another community — locally, regionally, or internationally — who are facing related sustainability challenges?
- What barriers might shape students’ participation? Think of time, technology, language, family responsibilities, confidence, or access...And how can the unit be flexible enough to include them?
- What growth are you hoping students develop beyond content knowledge, such as systems thinking, care, teamwork, intercultural understanding, or shared problem-solving, and how will you know it happened?
